Style Resolutions for 2024

Well, hello there! A new year is a great time to really start your resolutions, as cliche as that sounds, and for me that means taking a close look at the things I'm wearing and how I can incorporate some newness in there whilst still looking and feeling like me.

I'm the first to admit I am a sucker black clothing. Honestly, a solid 90% of my wardrobe resembles a dark void. Not any more, I tell myself! I want to incorporate a lot more colour into there, especially having been influenced by people such as @meganellaby, @oliviaandalice @itsleeyall and @tessavmontfoort who all make  colourful 'fits look so stylish.

By far the most important thing I want to work on is my confidence. I suffered a few moments in 2023 which knocked my confidence and put me into a style rut of baggy trousers, tees and trainers. Now, there isn't anything wrong with those individual items, but when they are the ONLY things you wear, that ain't the one. I want the confidence to wear whatever I want, when I want. A lot of my inspo comes from my travels, so I am sure that with a few little trips planned in the first half of the year I'll be feeling refreshed, confident and inspired.

Thrifting my clothing became a highlight of 2023 and is something I want to continue on in the upcoming year. A hell of a lot of bargains were found in 2023, from my Ganni crossbody bag on Vinted (£20!!) to my Levi's denim jacket that cost the grand sum of 10 British Pounds it really felt like I hit the jackpot with my finds. I'll be sticking to my local charity shops, vintage stores and Vinted going forwards, that's for sure.

Whilst being conscious of my spending I feel like accessorising is the way forward for 2024, especially when it comes to buying into those pesky trends that entice me. There's not an outfit that cannot be spiced up by way of a little scarf, hat or belt which will, hopefully, keep me feeling fresh with my wardrobe and avoid the dreaded rut I talked about earlier in the post.

I'm writing this to not only hold myself accountable but also bring back the ol' blog. So, see you next time lil' corner of the internet. xo
